The world’s largest online betting group, Flutter Entertainment, plans to fight a Kentucky Supreme Court ruling imposing more than $870 million in damages from an old lawsuit against one of the company’s newly-acquired subsidiaries. The $205 million redevelopment of Kenosha’s former Dairyland Greyhound Park into apartments, industrial buildings and offices could receive $22 million in city tax incremental financing. The Forest County Potawatomi Community and Zilber Property Group of Milwaukee are seeking approvals for that redevelopment. The American casino industry wants gambling regulators to make it easier to adopt cashless payment transactions on the casino floor, citing a desire to help customers avoid handling money during the coronavirus outbreak. The West Bend man started a company called Quick Charge Kiosk that modified video gambling machines to provide charging for cell phones and put them in gas stations and convenience stores around the state. The Attorney General quickly deemed the kiosks illegal gambling machines, and seized many of them. The 89-year-old philanthropist is one of several big-name investors to receive shares in the sports-betting company since it went public through a reverse merger on April 23. According to a filing last week with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Quantum Partners, an investment vehicle run by Soros Fund Management, holds 2.7 million DraftKings Class A shares.
